Diet templates allow you to create universal diets that you can quickly assign to any patient in the future. Each of the created templates can be modified to meet the individual needs of your patients. To create a new diet template, select the “Meals and diets” tab in the left-hand menu. Then select “Diets” and click “Add diet” button.

In the window that appears now on your screen click “Create diet template”.

The next step is to enter the number of days your diet template is going to be planned for and enter the daily amount of energy for the diet. In the next step, the system will notify you when you exceed the number of calories for the day.

The system automatically selects the percentage distribution of energy into macro-components. If you’re preparing a diet that requires unusual proportions of proteins, fats and carbohydrates, enter these proportions.  In addition to proteins, fats and carbohydrates, you can choose three other nutrients that will be tracked while preparing your diet.

Before you start to prepare diet, plan the portion of the amount of the total calories for each meal. Remember that the total must equal 100%. When you are done, click “Next”.

In the next step, enter the name of the diet.

To add a meal to diet, click on the window of the meal you want to plan and search for a meal in the drop-down menu on the right side of the screen by typing in the name of the meal or searching for it in meals categories

Click on the desired meal from the list. Remember that both each meal and the whole day have their maximum calories. If you exceed it, the number of calories in a meal or day will be displayed in red.

Remember to choose the category to which your diet template fits best. You do not need to create a whole diet in one go, you can resume working on it at any time. Once you decide that your work is done, save the changes by clicking  “Save” button. Before you close the template, you still have the possibility to download the arranged menu in PDF format, which is ready to print.
